Functional Family Therapy
An evidence-based intervention to work with youth and their families
Functional Family Therapy (FFT) is a short term, cost - effective family intervention program averaging 12 to 14 sessions over three to five months. FFT produces change through program phases, with each phase having specific assessment focus, intervention strategies, and goals. This strength-based model is individualized to each family with an emphasis on respecting family members differences, culture, ethnicity and their unique strengths and needs.
FFT has been successful in reducing substance use, recidivism, and out-of-home placement and has proven to increase youth behaviors and overall family functioning.
Family Focus staff are trained in the FFT clinical model and currently receives weekly clinical training with our FFT National Trainer.
