Melissa is an Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of total experience in the nursing field where she has worked in various settings.  Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, she worked in various roles as an RN, starting out as a critical care RN on a surgical step-down unit at St. Mary’s, then as a Nurse Navigator, totaling 8 years’ service for the Bon Secours Health System. In 2013 Melissa moved to Corpus Christi, TX, where she worked as a Care Transition Coach for CHRISTUS Spohn Memorial Hospital and as an RN for a Home Health agency. In 2016 after a move to Tuscaloosa, AL she worked on the Medical ICU at DCH Hospital.

When Melissa began her career as a Nurse Practitioner, she chose the field of Mental Health with the desire to make a difference; working in the mental health population quickly became her passion.  Prior to joining Family Focus, Inc. in 2020, Melissa worked in a private outpatient psychiatric practice serving teen, adult, and geriatric populations.
