Rose Joyner, PMHNP-BC
Outpatient Nurse Practitioner
Rose is a dual-certified Nurse Practitioner with over ten years of experience in Adult-Geriatric Primary Care and Psychiatric Mental Health. She is passionate about creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for clients of all ages and backgrounds to share their lived experiences.
Rose provides compassionate, evidence-based mental health care for individuals ages 4 and older, integrating medication management with psychotherapy. She takes a holistic approach to treatment and is committed to creating a space where patients feel genuinely seen, heard, and cared for. She welcomes lived experiences without judgment and values openness, honesty, and authenticity in the therapeutic relationship.
With a strong foundation in both physical and mental health, Rose treats a wide range of conditions, including ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood and personality disorders, conduct and oppositional defiant disorders, and weight management. She finds great joy in working with complex, dual, and multi-layered presentations, providing thoughtful, individualized care to support long-term stability and overall wellness.
Rose is ADOS-2 trained and supports the assessment of autism-related concerns as part of a comprehensive clinical evaluation. When appropriate, she coordinates referrals for formal diagnostic evaluations to ensure accurate and thorough assessment.
In addition to medication management, Rose offers Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) Level 3 as a separate, structured service focused on supporting parents in managing behavioral challenges and strengthening parent-child relationships. This evidence-based program provides practical, solution-focused strategies for families with children from birth through age 16.
She has a special interest in serving LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities and is committed to making quality mental health care accessible throughout the Richmond region. She offers flexible care options, including cash-pay services as well as Medicaid and Medicare coverage.
It is her privilege to walk beside each client and family on their journey toward balance, empowerment, and healing.
